Dadaepo Hiking Spot

Right across the road from our flat is a decent mountain to climb.
It doesn’t really have the best views

but it’s convenient to have a place just nearby
to escape the endless concrete covering Korea.

There’s even a quaint temple nestled between the peaks.

Even without good views, there’s something to see if you look carefully.

We’ve found ourselves enjoying the usually overlooked mushrooms
and bugs hidden among various nooks and crannies.

There are quite a variety of mushrooms cropping up with all the rain we’ve had lately.

Of course, there are also the more traditionally gorgeous flowers
to take delight in, planted by the monks.

This is the last little stretch of pleasant greenery before we return to the concrete and plastic of the very developed Korea.

It’s definitely not a must see attraction, but if you find yourself near Dadaepo Beach, you will find pockets of decent hiking spots scattered amongst the buildings.

What hidden treasures have you found while out walking?
